Join us at Kunstinstituut Melly for an evening of play, music, and exhibitions unfolding throughout the building at Museumnacht010. In collaboration with House of Knowledge, SPARK and Radio Tornado we present a participatory program that connects improvisational live activations with Melly’s current exhibitions.
Take part in a live, improvised game developed by SPARK, a Rotterdam-based improv community. Inspired by donna Kukama’s exhibition I Breathe, You Breathe, this playful activation responds to breath, presence, and collective movement, echoing Kukama’s approach to history as a living and transforming body.
Radio Tornado curates an inclusive musical program combining live and electronic performances. Ripa na Tulipa, a Rotterdam-based Brazilian bloco band formed by Codarts alumni, performs live musci alongside a DJ set by Radio Tornado focused on world music and disco.
For Museum Night CLiP #7, Garage School of Prepping Otherwise, participants share performative interventions reflecting on community-based practices of preparation and care. A quiet, low-sensory space for rest and reflection will be available throughout the night.
Together with House of Knowledge, musical improvisations activate the third-floor galleries in dialogue with Marilyn Nance’s Spirit Faith Grace Rage.
