Enjoy a curated listening experience with a drink and encounter artworks by emerging talent of Rotterdam in response to our current exhibition shadow circuits. Program maker Ruby Reding explores resources and their roots in scenes of extraction, elemental flows and labour conditions.
From the brackish waters running into port toxicities and dripping slowly like tears, to the gas circulating under our feet from Mexico to Italy, might forms of material kinship bring new sensitivities to understanding how our resources circulate?
The violent pasts of these materials—the tilling and flattening of land, the exploitation of labour—might be sensed here through light, shadow or textures. With work from Amauta García and David Camargo, Á. Birna Björnsdóttir, Matteo Bettini, Nabila Ernado and Kyra Nijskenz.
