Fenix is showcasing the work Where Are We Going by artist Efrat Zehavi. It's a collection of 116 sculpted, anonymous portraits of people she's met on the street, in parks, libraries, and cafes. Efrat works in public spaces. She engages in conversation with passersby, listens, asks questions, and slowly gets to know each other. During this conversation, a face of clay is created in her hands. This is how encounters and conversations literally take shape.
During Museumnacht010, that role shifts. Now the task is yours. How often do you actually approach a stranger? What's holding you back? What would you like to ask, if you finally found the courage? During Clay a Stranger we invite you to take a seat at a long table, opposite someone you don't yet know. You look at each other, ask questions, listen, and simultaneously sculpt each other's portraits. While you shape the other person in clay, they shape you. Efrat Zehavi walks around, sharing her knowledge, offering tips, and guiding the process. The result is a work of art.
