Step into the offbeat world of David Shrigley at the Kunsthal during Museumnacht010. His exhibition What the Hell Was I Thinking? sets the mood right away: funny, sharp, and a little strange. Draw his three-metre-high nude model and discover giant inflatable sculptures, meteorite horseshoes, and fluffy forms that go at each other. With witty observations, Shrigley zooms in on failure, doubt and the absurdity of everyday life – work that makes you laugh while also giving you something to think about. You can also check out the layered, colourful work of artist Kudzanai-Violet Hwami and jump back to Rotterdam around 1900, when the city was becoming a popular destination for travellers from around the world. And of course, it wouldn’t be Museumnacht010 without that special vibe. In the Auditorium, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music bring feel-good DJ sets and karaoke, while Hip Hop In Je Smoel takes over the Kunsthal Café with a mix of classic hip-hop and the latest tracks.

What the Hell Was I Thinking | David Shrigley
With his dry-humour drawings, strange installations and sharp observations, British artist David Shrigley (1968) takes a funny but critical look at everyday life and the art world. In What the Hell Was I Thinking?, Shrigley turns that gaze on himself and invites you straight into his head.
