Belvédère is the first monument for intangible heritage in the Netherlands. We make the (personal) stories of people and communities within the contemporary city, visible for a broad audience to experience. The characteristic building (anno 1894) in Katendrecht, a neighbourhood in the south of Rotterdam, has an illustrious history. From grand café and dance palace, cinema and wrestling arena, hiding place during WW2, a Greek nightclub, artist’s residency and neighbourhood museum: many people left their traces here. Storyhouse Belvédère wants to facilitate such encounters and new connections, between citizens and visitors from far and near, between present, past and future. Open: daily from 11 - 17 pm (and when the door is open). Admission free. Feel free and welcome to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, visit one of the exhibitions or enjoy a lunch made by one of our neighbourhood chefs from the People’s Kitchen.
During Museumnacht010 visit our new Belvédère Storydepot at Fenix (Veerlaan 21b).
