The Nederlands Fotomuseum (Dutch Photo Museum) in Rotterdam is the Dutch national museum for photography. With the Gallery of Honour of Dutch Photography and an impressive collection of more than 6 million images, the museum is both a showroom and treasure trove. Here you will discover the history of Dutch photography and meet leading and emerging photographers from the Netherlands.

The museum is located in the monumental Las Palmas building on the Wilhelminapier. In the Gallery of Honour of Dutch Photography, 99 iconic photos tell the history of 180 years of photography in the Netherlands. Each and every one of them are visual stories that matter: from the very first daguerreotype from 1842 to an Instagram feed from 2021. Names such as Ed van der Elsken, Erwin Olaf, Ata Kandó and Rineke Dijkstra are displayed next to Sara Blokland, Sanja Marušić and Marwan Bassiouni. In addition to the Gallery of Honour, the Nederlands Fotomuseum presents changing exhibitions with notable names from the Dutch photography world, work from its own collection and emerging talent.
