This Museumnacht010 we give you healing rhythms from a world in common. What do you get when a metropolitan disc-jockey and a live Surinamese multi-instrumentalist collaborate? Join us in the experience and come find out. In this interactive workshop we will be exploring the common grounds in popular music and traditional cultural music with Mo Jakob en MrJetfly.

Marlon Francis a.k.a. MrJetfly is an experienced musician in many genres and proudly carries his Surinam roots into his work. His contribution to Surinamese superstars ‘’La Rouge’’ and ‘’Kenny B’’ must be mentioned together with his sold out 4TheCulture concerts celebrating Surinam’s independence.

Mo Jakob is a familiar name in the Rotterdam DJ community, has always been in touch with several subcultures and therefore has a diverse musical palette to draw from. He touches every genre reminding him of the hood, the struggle and the hustle, giving a new sound to survival. His selections range from footwork, techno, hiphop, clubtrax and everything in between.

Both springing from Surinam roots they will be joining forces to provide us with an awesome workshop combining the influences from Kawina (the famous music style from Surinam) and popular urban songs from the modern day.
