UMARELL ULTRAS

We shake hands with the city! During this Museumnacht010, all the spaces and hidden corners of WORM will open to your all-seeing eye! In our not-so-white-cube-gallery we present UMARELL ULTRAS, a group exhibition around Paul Mogwitz as an ongoing conversation, with Donatas Tretjakovas, Frederique Jonker, Heikki Saikkonen among others. They start from the figure of the Umarell, pensioners standing at construction sites watching, stereotypically with their hands behind their backs, unsolicited giving advice to the construction workers. The collective uses the gallery as a theatrical space in motion, inviting interaction, between reality and absurdism. In an atmosphere of uselessness, we watch from behind a fence how recent events unfold before our eyes, without the ability to really intervene – except through unwanted criticism.
